Is Trump Setting a Dangerous Precedent with AI Content?

I came across another one of those weird things happening in the world that I can’t wrap my head around. Apparently, President Trump has his own social media platform called Truth Social—I didn’t even know that—and he posted this video the other day that I think is just gross and inappropriate. (Do people even use the term gross anymore?) It shows him flying a jet fighter over one of those No Kings rallies and dropping stuff on the crowd. And then we wonder why everything feels so messed up. I mean, this is the leader of our country, supposedly the greatest country in the world, and he’s out here posting stuff like that.

An illustration of a jet fighter flying over a large crowd at sunset, with spectators holding flags and banners, amidst a dramatic sky.

What’s wild is that he admits to posting it—or at least having someone do it for him—and he doesn’t see anything wrong with it. How are we supposed to trust a leader like this? I’m not saying I’m anti-Trump, and I’m definitely not some pro-Democrat either, but is this really the example we want to set? When asked about the video, he said it’s supposed to make a point. What point? I don’t get it. Isn’t there a better way to make a point? The country is already so divided, and stuff like this makes it worse. I honestly don’t see how we’ll ever come together again, and this kind of thing is part of the problem.

And another thing—Trump’s always going on about fake news and fake media, but isn’t this video, which is AI-generated, fake too? What’s the point he’s trying to make? I can think of a few, but I’ll keep it clean here. I just don’t get it.

On the flip side, this past weekend saw numerous “No Kings” protests across the country. Supposedly, 3 or 4 million people participated, but what are they even protesting? I checked out their website, and it doesn’t really explain what they’re trying to achieve. It provides information on what to do if you get arrested and your rights, which is fine, but what’s the actual message? Maybe I missed something, but I don’t see it. I read something about how the founding fathers didn’t want kings, which is where they got their name. I agree with that, but what’s their goal? At least with movements like Black Lives Matter or the 99% thing from years ago, you knew what they were about. Whether you agreed with them or not, they had a clear message. But these No Kings people? I don’t know. I can’t figure it out. The world is getting increasingly bizarre.

Another thing that bugs me—why does Trump think he can use people’s music, images, or whatever without asking? I’m not a huge fan of some of these entertainers who have more money than they know what to do with, but I get why they wouldn’t want their stuff used for something like this. How does he decide to use it and deal with the consequences later? What kind of example does that set?

I love this country—it’s the greatest in the world—but it feels like we’re slipping. Stuff like this doesn’t make sense, and it’s not what this country was built on. Like I’ve said before, I’m not anti-Trump, and I’m not some liberal Democrat either, but we need some sanity in this world, and it feels like that’s what we’re missing.
