Trying to Navigate the Middle of the Road
I’ve lived in two neighboring towns my whole life, and right now, I’m in the one I grew up in. Lately, the town’s been doing some stuff I don’t get. First off, I barely go on social media anymore, especially Facebook, because it’s such a negative space, and I don’t need that in my life. But now and then, I’ll check in to see what’s happening.
Three news items caught my eye today. All three are from the Boston area. Saturday night/Sunday morning, there were two separate “vehicle takeover” incidents, with one police cruiser at each scene being torched. One was in Boston, the other in Randolph. The third incident was a man who was arrested after shooting a pellet gun at a temple in Brookline.
The bad thing about living under a rock is occasionally you have to crawl out from under it. And when you do you see things maybe you wish you hadn’t. I have heard about this Karen Read trial but never really paid attention or knew much about it. I knew it involved a dead cop, his girlfriend, a possible conspiracy and a turtle of some kind.
Years ago I had a blog called “Behind a Dirty Windshield“, where I used to ponder the mysteries of life and everyday living from behind the windshield of whatever vehicle I happened to driving at the time. It was fairly successful at the time. I have tried to revive it here.
Fifty years. I will have been out of high school for fifty years in a couple of months. When you take the time to actually think about it, fifty years is a long darn time. We will be having a fiftieth class reunion in June, and honestly, I am not sure if I am looking forward to it or not.

One thing I do do is hike but now that it’s the dead of winter I rather stay inside. The other day I said to myself “Self, we need to start writing again.” So with that in mind, I came up with some ideas to write about and began to research.

The Government won’t pay me enough, so I will still have to work a part-time job, but it will be easier on me. Maybe you’ve noticed I have been writing more posts lately. Maybe I can start making money this way?
As those of you have read this blog in the past know. I have become somewhat comfortable with using technology. But then, something happens making me shake my head and set me back Yes, as you can tell I had an issue with a piece of technology this week.
I got to spend some time behind the dirty windshield this week. It’s been a while since I’ve had the chance. I did a six hour round trip to Maine.
